As the representative body of Ikenne-Remo, IDA has championed countless projects that have significantly impacted the town’s social, physical, infrastructural, and health sectors. Our History...

Founded by concerned indigenes of Ikenne-Remo, the IDA has been at the forefront of community-driven development. With a population of fewer than 400,000, Ikenne-Remo is small but mighty, and the IDA has earned its place as a model for grassroots development in Nigeria. From the construction of schools and hospitals to providing utilities and amenities, our history is one of determination, unity, and impact.

Our Story: Since 1977, IDA has played a pivotal role in the development of Ikenne-Remo, helping the town grow into a model of community-driven progress. Our work has earned us a prominent place in Ogun State, with numerous successful projects that address the needs of our people, from healthcare and education to essential infrastructure.

FEATURED PROJECTS

The Ikenne Development Association has successfully executed numerous projects since its inception. Through the dedication of our members and the generous contributions of local and national supporters, we have been able to achieve lasting results. Here are a few key projects:

Ikenne General Hospital:

Originally founded as a community hospital, it has now been upgraded by the Ogun State Government to a General Hospital, continuing to serve the healthcare needs of our people.

Ikenne Community High School:

Established in 1980 and now operated by the Ogun State Government, this school continues to shape the future of our youth.

Ikenne Police Divisional Headquarters

Through self-sustaining efforts, we constructed essential government buildings that benefit the entire community.

EREKE Day

Celebrate Development at EREKE Day: Each year, the Ikenne Development Association celebrates the progress of our town through the EREKE Day festival. This event is an important time for indigenes of Ikenne-Remo to return home and witness firsthand the ongoing developments in the town. The grand finale ceremony, held on the first Saturday of November, sees the commissioning of new projects funded by the efforts of local philanthropists and community leaders.
